Our Apprenticeship training covers a range of courses, however our most popular seems to be the NVQ level 2 and 3 in Plumbing and Heating. These can be completed in 18 months. We are open all year around. We can easily transfer you from any other college/training centre to ALC at any time.
Our apprenticeship programmes let students get straight into the world of work.
Being an apprentice allows people to learn on the job, build up knowledge and skills, gain a nationally recognised qualification and earn money – all at the same time.
We know that businesses who offer apprenticeships view them as beneficial to their long-term development. According to the British Chambers of Commerce, most employers take on an apprentice to improve the skills base within their business. According to the National Apprenticeship Service, nearly every employer that takes on an apprentice (96%) reports benefits to their business, with 72% of businesses reporting improved productivity.
Other benefits for employers include improved products or services, the introduction of new ideas to the business, improved staff morale and better staff retention.
More and more industries are training their staff through apprenticeships. As with any other training path there is clear progression from intermediate (Level 2) to advanced (Level 3) apprenticeships .
Apprentices are employed and paid by their company and spend one or two days a week at the centre learning extra skills including English, maths and IT.
